Massive, dark, and deeply symbolic, this celestial eye obsidian dragon bracelet brings together three materials intimately linked to our universe: volcanic obsidian from Mexico, silver, and turquoise from Hubei province in China, one of the most beautiful in the world.
We created this bracelet around large 18mm natural celestial eye obsidian beads, selected for the depth of their black and the quality of their iridescent reflections. They are combined with buffalo bone spacers and an imposing 925 silver dragon head, whose eyes are set with turquoises. Some parts of the dragon are enhanced with gold plating, creating a contrast between silver, gold, the blue of the turquoise, and the almost infinite nuances of the obsidian.
Weighing 87 grams, this dragon bracelet is not a subtle piece of jewelry. The 18mm beads and the dragon head give it a particularly strong presence on the wrist.

Celestial Eye Obsidian: A Natural Volcanic Glass
Obsidian is a natural glassy volcanic rock. From a scientific perspective, it is not strictly a crystallized mineral, but essentially an amorphous volcanic glass.
It forms when silica-rich magma cools quickly enough that the magmatic liquid constituents do not have time to develop a significant crystalline structure.
This rapid solidification produces the characteristic glassy texture of obsidian.
Obsidian may appear perfectly black under certain lighting but reveal, when oriented towards the light, silvery, golden, green, purple, or multicolored reflections.
What is Celestial Eye Obsidian?
The name “celestial eye obsidian” is a trade name used for certain iridescent obsidians whose colors appear in zones or halos when properly oriented under light.
On spherical beads like those of this bracelet, this phenomenon can produce reflections evoking an eye, a halo, or a succession of colored circles appearing within the depth of the black.
These iridescences are not an artificial coloring applied to the surface of the stone. It should be noted that some traders refer to this turquoise as Tibetan turquoise, but there have never been any turquoise deposits in Tibet. Tibetans, great admirers of turquoise, imported it from Hubei province or Persia.

With its beads of approximately 18 mm in diameter and a total weight of about 87 grams, this bracelet has a much greater presence than a classic natural stone bracelet of 8 or 10 mm.
