ARAGONITE
This dragon skull was hand carved from aragonite.

Physically, aragonite is generally transparent to translucent, with a color that can vary from white, to gray, to brown and even green or blue, or even red due to different impurities. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is about 3.5 to 4, which makes it relatively soft and susceptible to abrasion.

Aragonite forms in a variety of geological environments, including calcium carbonate deposits from evaporated seawater, organic limestones such as shells and corals, and hydrothermal deposits and caves.
