Jade Mala - Hannya Demon from Japan

Jade Mala handcrafted to order. Allow between 8 and 10 days for production after purchase.

This jade mala is composed of:

108 white nephrite jade beads 10mm in diameter grade A, from western China, renowned for the quality of its high quality nephrite jades.

Canadian Polar Jade also grade A from Dawson mining river, Yukon province. Recognizable by its characteristic green color.

The final bead of this jade mala represents Hannya the demon of Japan.
This handcrafted head is composed of:

925 silver hallmarked according to international standards

Copper

turquoise from Hubei province

tsavorite garnet from madagascar.

We have also placed on this jade mala, the two powerful symbols of Vajrayana Buddhism which are the Dorje and the 925 silver bell.

Mounted on a very resistant traditional cord representing the 5 colors of the 5 meditation Buddhas, containing 3 threads representing the 3 bodies of Buddha.

A sliding knot under the finishing bead allows the assembly to be tightened and loosened for practice.

As a gemologist graduated from the National Institute of Gemmology in Paris, all our materials are appraised and certified.

HANNYA

Japanese demon. In fantasy legends and beliefs, it represents the ghost of a young woman who has returned from the afterlife to satisfy her desire for revenge. This demon, very dangerous, mainly represents anger and jealousy. It is classified among the yokai and happens to be an oni. The term "Hannya" comes from the Sanskrit "prajna" which means "great wisdom.
