Natural Lapis Lazuli Mala from Sar-e-Sang – Vajrapani Buddhist Ghau – Hand-Painted Tibetan Thangka from Qinghai (UNESCO Regong Art) – Buddhist rosary for meditation and Vajrapani practice.
This Lapis Lazuli Mala was created and assembled by me, with all the attention and respect I have for Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
A unique piece, this Lapis Lazuli Mala embodies the convergence of gemology, sacred art, and inner quest. A stone of truth and wisdom, lapis lazuli has for millennia been associated with clarity of mind, spiritual elevation, and inner vision. Practicing with a Lapis Lazuli Mala means surrounding oneself with the celestial light of this stone, guiding meditation and opening the doors to profound knowledge.
At the heart of this Lapis Lazuli Mala, the Vajrapani Ghau enhances its spiritual power. Vajrapani, fierce protector of the Dharma, is the manifestation of strength and determination on the path to Enlightenment. He embodies the courage to destroy illusions and protect practitioners' minds from obstacles. Thus, this Lapis Lazuli Mala becomes a true rosary for practice and a protective amulet, combining the power of the sacred stone and the indomitable energy of Vajrapani.

As a certified gemologist from the National Gemology Institute (ING, Paris, France), I rigorously select my materials. Each element is chosen for its purity, authenticity, and energy.
This handmade Lapis Lazuli Mala respects the sacred essence of traditional Buddhist rosaries. It is designed as a living ritual tool, carrying conscious intention. 🔮🐉✨ Symbolic explanations of the elements composing this Lapis Lazuli Mala
📿 Lapis lazuli Buddhist mala for meditation and mantra recitation
This Lapis Lazuli Mala is a concentration of spiritual and cosmic symbols. Each element – stone, metal, symbol, and sacred painting – acts in synergy to offer the practitioner a path of protection, wisdom, and awakening.
1) Lapis Lazuli – Stone of truth and eternal wisdom
For over 6,000 years, lapis lazuli, a metamorphic rock composed of Lazurite, Calcite, Pyrite, has been considered a sacred stone. Extracted from the Afghan mountains of the legendary Sar-e-Sang deposit, it already adorned the funerary masks of pharaohs and the temples of Mesopotamia.
In Buddhism, the Lapis Lazuli Mala embodies clarity of mind and inner vision. Each bead acts as a mirror of truth, dispelling illusion and guiding towards awakening. Wearing a Lapis Lazuli Mala means surrounding oneself with a celestial vibration, a deep blue that connects the mind to the vast sky of wisdom.
2) The Vajrapani Ghau – Protective amulet and indomitable energy
This Lapis Lazuli Mala features a Buddhist Ghau, containing a miniature Vajrapani thangka, hand-painted by a Tibetan artist from Qinghai. This sacred art, recognized by UNESCO as intangible heritage (Regong Art), gives this Lapis Lazuli Mala a rare authenticity.
Vajrapani is depicted here in his Acharya form.
Vajrapani Acharya is a Dharmapala, a protector of the Dharma. He appears in human form but imbued with supernatural power. His disheveled hair stands up like flames, and he wears a crown of bones and skulls, symbolizing victory over ego and death. His face expresses sacred wrath, and a third eye shines in the center of his forehead, a sign of his transcendental vision.
Around his neck coils a necklace of snakes, while a belt of severed heads encircles his waist, covering a tiger skin that emphasizes his fierce and indomitable nature. His body is in motion, advancing to the right, ready to deploy his protective energy.
⚡ Vajrapani, the fierce Protector of the Dharma
Vajrapani (Sanskrit: "wielder of the vajra") is considered one of the three great protectors of Buddha Shakyamuni, alongside Manjushri (wisdom) and Avalokiteshvara (compassion). Where his spiritual brothers embody gentleness and clarity, Vajrapani embodies indomitable strength and spiritual power that destroys illusions.
Depicted with the vajra – adamant thunderbolt, an unshakable spiritual weapon – he manifests wrathful energy. But this wrath is not destructive in the human sense: it is the expression of fierce compassion, ready to annihilate the forces of ignorance and protect the practitioner from inner and outer obstacles.
Within this Lapis Lazuli Mala, the presence of Vajrapani bestows a particular energy to the recitation of mantras. Each bead becomes a spark of protective power. Meditation is then nourished by a new force, guiding the mind with determination towards liberation.
Thus, using this Lapis Lazuli Mala with the Vajrapani Ghau is like walking alongside an invisible guardian:
-
it strengthens inner confidence,
-
it dissipates negative energies,
-
and it supports the practitioner's courage on the path to Enlightenment.
☸️ On the back of this Ghau are depicted the 8 auspicious signs of Buddhism
The conch, the parasol, the lotus, the fish, the wheel, the vase, the banner, and the endless knot. These symbols, called Astamangala, bring prosperity, protection, and blessing to the wearer of this Lapis Lazuli Mala.

They transform this Lapis Lazuli Mala into a true spiritual talisman, imbued with the benevolence of the Buddhas and Dharma masters.
3) The Dorje and the Bell – Union of method and wisdom
Two traditional counters adorn this Lapis Lazuli Mala:
-
one ends with a dorje (vajra) ⚡, symbol of the unalterable strength of the awakened mind.
-
the other ends with a Tibetan bell 🔔, representing transcendent wisdom.
Together, they express the fundamental balance of Vajrayana Buddhism: method (compassion) and wisdom (ultimate knowledge). Each use of the Lapis Lazuli Mala becomes a living reminder of this inseparable union.

4) The Guru Bead – The Nine Celestial Palaces
The Guru Bead in silver and copper of this Lapis Lazuli Mala is finely crafted and bears the representation of the Nine Celestial Palaces (九宫, Jiǔ Gōng), a cosmological scheme that connects human beings to the forces of the universe. In the spiritual tradition of Feng Shui, these nine divisions symbolize directions, temporal cycles, and dimensions of existence.
In this Lapis Lazuli Mala, this bead embodies the axis around which the practice is articulated. Like the Luo Pan of Feng Shui masters, which serves as a sacred compass to harmonize the energies of heaven and earth, the Nine Palaces offer a framework of balance where each lapis bead acts as an anchor point between microcosm and macrocosm.
Thus, this Lapis Lazuli Mala becomes a true inner map of awakening:
-
Each lapis lazuli bead symbolically connects the practitioner to a dimension of life: prosperity, wisdom, health, relationships, creativity, or spiritual path.
-
The Guru Bead, with its Nine Celestial Palaces, acts as the unifying center, reminding us that all these dimensions converge towards a single point: the creative Void (Tài Yǐ), the ultimate principle of unity.
Wearing and practicing with this Lapis Lazuli Mala is therefore to resonate with the harmonious structure of the universe. The Guru bead becomes a cosmic mirror, reinforcing the meditative power of the mala, while reminding us that the practitioner's inner quest is inseparable from the universal order.
✨ This element makes this Lapis Lazuli Mala a rare talisman, capable of linking the depth of Tibetan Buddhist tradition with the cosmological wisdom of sacred Asian arts, to offer guidance, protection, and spiritual elevation.

5) The cord of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas
Finally, this Lapis Lazuli Mala is mounted on a traditional cord braided with the 5 sacred colors: blue, white, red, green, yellow. They represent the 5 Dhyani Buddhas – wisdom, compassion, energy, realization, and balance.
This cord symbolically connects each lapis lazuli bead to universal spiritual qualities, transforming this mala into a complete meditation tool, aligned with the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
✨ Adopt a sacred talisman
This Lapis Lazuli Mala is a unique piece, a meditation companion and a spiritual protector crafted with care and authenticity. Each bead, each symbol, each detail carries a conscious intention, a breath of wisdom and protective energy.
