Garuda, fabulous bird-man of Hindu and then Buddhist mythology, son of Kashyapa and Vinatâ and brother of Aruna, the charioteer of the god Sûrya. It is the vahana, or mount, of the god Vishnu. He is also considered the king of birds. In Tibet, Khyung (ཁྱུང) is the Tibetan name for the Garuda. Coming from India, it was assimilated to the khading of the Bon religion, the golden horned eagle. The black garuda is a deity of the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism who is held to suppress ailments caused by naga and earth spirits. It is featured on the Lungta. It is represented in Shambhala iconography by Chogyam Trungpa for whom it is associated with significant speed and power. Like the phoenix, it rises from the ashes of destruction, it is indestructible.

On the back is designed a rotating Buddhist wheel of life thanks to a German high precision ball bearing.

In terms of symbols, the Buddha, seated under the bodhi tree, saw two things. First, he saw a Ferris wheel. This wheel embraces the totality of conditioned existence, it is of the same extent as the cosmos, it contains all living beings. It turns constantly: it turns day and night, it turns life after life, it turns era after era. We cannot see when it began to turn, and we cannot yet see when it will stop turning: only a Buddha sees that.

Turquoise and nan hong agate set.

The protective windows are made of leuco sapphire like high-end watches.

Bodhisattva Dizang/ Jizo

Kshitigarbha known in China as Dizang Wang or Dizang Pusa (地藏王菩薩), is the savior of the underworld in Buddhism.

Its name "Hidden Treasure of the Earth" is the translation of the Sanskrit Ksitigharba, which means "one who conceals the earth".

He belongs to the tetralogy of the great master bodhisattvas of the four sacred Buddhist mountains. Dizang is often depicted as a young monk with a tonsured head, holding a pilgrim's staff in his hand and a luminous pearl in the other.

Both are used by him to guide the souls of the dead to get them out of hell. Both are used by him to guide the souls of the dead out of hell. His place of pilgrimage is on Mount Jiuhua located in the province of Anhui, in eastern China. He was the main deity of the Sanjie school under the Tang Dynasty, which contributed to the multiplication of his representations. Seriously ill people are invited to read this sutra and pray to this bodhisattva to help them recover. There are many legends taken from this Sutra.

Buddha Shakyamuni says there that one who recites the name of Kṣitigarbha a thousand times a day for a thousand days will be protected from accidents and diseases throughout his life by divine beings sent by the bodhisattva. "OM HA HA HA VISMAYE SVAHA" or "Namo Kshitigarbha bodhisattvāya!" »

In some temples, pictures of the deceased people or tablets bearing the names of the deceased are placed around his portrait or statue in order for him to save them.

In Japan, Jizō is especially requested by women who have had a miscarriage or an abortion, and placed at crossroads and cemeteries to release wandering spirits. This Bodhisattva and his Sutra are very important and revered in East Asia in Great Vehicle Buddhism.
