Chrysocolla pendant set in 925 silver filigree-cloisonné- Qing Dynasty

This art dates back to the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century and adorned the members of the Forbidden City.
We are now working with Huangyi Workshop , official supplier of the shops in the Forbidden City of Beijing.
This workshop is made up of 8 people and the work is obviously artisanal.
My role as a gemologist is to find the gems, assess them, then, upon my return from Beijing, we work on the exceptional design of this sumptuous and unique art. This charoite pendant is entirely handcrafted

FILIGREE SILVER TECHNIQUE:

The art of filigree silver crafting is a delicate and refined artisanal technique used to create exceptional and unique pendants. Each piece is expertly crafted, with artisans painstakingly intertwining silver wires to form intricate and elegant designs.
This centuries-old craftsmanship adds a touch of elegance to each pendant, capturing the artistic essence of the Manchu Qing Dynasty. Each filigree detail reflects the dedication of the artisans, creating unique pieces steeped in history and sophistication.

CLOISONNE TECHNIQUE:
The cloisonné technique, used with finesse for each pendant, is an ancient art that gives a unique beauty to each piece.
The craftsmen create compartments delimited by thin silver partitions, forming a complex network.
These compartments are then filled with enamels, providing a rich and vibrant palette of colours. The process requires precise mastery, with each layer of enamel carefully fired to ensure brilliance and durability.

The end result is a splendid pendant, a perfect fusion of cloisonné art and Qing Dynasty heritage, evoking timeless elegance and meticulous craftsmanship.

At the center of this exceptional and rare pendant, a cabochon is set in chrysocolla associated with very high quality malachite , natural guaranteed without treatments.
As a gemologist graduated from the National Institute of Gemmology (ING, Paris), all our stones are appraised by us .
Originating from the Ural region of Russia

Dimensions of this chryscolle cabochon: 25.18mm high by 14.27mm wide weighing 14.69 carats.

CHRYSOCOLLA:
The crystal structure of chrysocolla is orthorhombic and its composition consists mainly of copper hydrosilicate (CuSiO3 • 2H2O).
This composition gives it a shade oscillating between turquoise blue and green, characteristic of the copper it contains.
In its natural state, chrysocolla is often associated with other minerals such as quartz, turquoise, malachite or chalcedony.
These associations not only contribute to its unique color patterns, but also to its durability.

With a hardness ranging from 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 2.2, chrysocolla is a delicate stone that often benefits from these blends. Aesthetically, this gem can be translucent or opaque, exhibiting a vitreous or waxy luster.
Often, we observe inclusions of more intense colors, which, in jewelry, are usually shaped into cabochons of different shapes, mainly oval.

50.70mm high by 28.87mm wide by 13.45mm thick
