it is very difficult to determine the exact origin of the sak yant, it should apparently come from the Khmers (about 3000 years ago). It is a geometric pattern made from images of Buddha, Bodhisattvas, Lotus or other Buddhist symbols believed to attract luck, wealth, blessing and ward off evil spirits.
