Rare high quality white sandalwood mala

108 Laoshan sandalwood beads, collector's quality, 6mm in diameter for each rare and precious wood bead.

Indian sandalwood (S. album) is now very rare and therefore very expensive. Sandalwood from the Mysore region of South India is considered the best quality available. New plantations have been established with the help of the international community in Tamil Nadu. It is distinguished from other sandalwoods by its characteristic fragrance which persists over time, and the quality of its wood.

As a gemologist graduated from the National Institute of Gemmology in Paris, all our stones are appraised and certified.

As Malakara, we make all of our malas ourselves, scrupulously respecting tradition.

mantra of compassion Om mani padme Hum engraved on each counter-bead of this rare sandalwood mala.

According to Tibetan Buddhism, reciting the Chenrezi Om Mani mantra
Padme Hum, either aloud or inwardly, is an invocation to attention
benevolent and powerful of Chenrezig, the expression of the compassion of the
Buddha. To learn more about this famous mantra, please click on this text which will take you to our full article on our blog

To finish this rare sandalwood mala we have placed a sculpture of a turtle shell carved in this same precious wood.

In Buddhism, the turtle shell is used as a metaphor to describe one of the qualities of the Buddha and the path to enlightenment.

The turtle shell is considered a symbol of protection and refuge in Buddhism. It is often used to illustrate how Buddhist practice can serve as a "shell" or "refuge" to protect individuals from the suffering of the world and guide them toward enlightenment.

The turtle shell metaphor suggests that Buddhist practice, including meditation and understanding Buddhist teachings, can help develop inner resilience and spiritual protection against life's suffering and difficulties.
