GEMMOLOGY:
Nephrite jade is a variety of mineral from the continuous series tremolite-actinolite, belonging to the group of silicates, family of inosilicates, composed mainly of mineral silicon and oxygen.

The general chemical formula of nephrite jade is complex due to the substitution of ions in its structure. However, it can be approximately represented as (Ca2(Mg,Fe)5Si8O22(OH)2. This formula indicates the presence of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), silicon (Si), oxygen (O), and hydroxides (OH) in the composition of nephrite jade.

Nephrite jade is known for its hardness, density, and varying colors, ranging from white to green and other hues. It has a fibrous or needle-like structure, which contributes to its strength and durability. Due to its physical properties and aesthetic beauty, nephrite jade is often used in sculpture, jewelry, and other art forms.

SYMBOLISM OF LAPIS LAZULI IN BUDDHISM:
Lapis lazuli is considered a stone of wisdom. In Buddhism, the quest for wisdom is central, and lapis lazuli is used, on a handmade mala, to represent this quality.

The stone is also linked to mental clarity. In Buddhist meditation, the pursuit of mental clarity and focus is essential, and lapis lazuli symbolizes this pursuit of mental purity.
