Ganesh Pendant - Authentic Ojime Antler Bead
1- What is an ojime pearl?
An ojime bead is a small object used in traditional Japanese culture, particularly during the Edo period (1603-1868).
Ojime beads serve as clasps or slides for inrō or sagemono, which are compartmented boxes used by men to carry small personal items such as medicines, seals, or herbs.
These inrō are often attached to a belt (obi) by a silk cord, and the ojime beads are used to hold this cord in place between the netsuke, stuck on the obi (the belt) and the sagemono.
Together, netsuke, ojime, and inrō form a functional and aesthetic trio that reflects the careful craftsmanship and refined visual culture of traditional Japan.
Ojime beads are often intricately carved and can be made from a variety of materials, including wood, ivory, semi-precious stones, metal, or lacquer. They are typically decorated with intricate designs, such as nature scenes, mythological figures, or cultural symbols, and their artistic design makes them highly sought-after collector's items.

- Buddhism : It is under a sacred fig tree that Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, is said to have attained enlightenment (nirvana) in Bodh Gaya, India. This tree is therefore often planted near Buddhist temples and is considered sacred.
- Hinduism : The tree is also revered in Hinduism and is associated with several deities, including Vishnu and Lakshmi.
Finally, this Ganesh pendant ends with a traditional tassel made by us.
