PHURBA THE DAGGER TO DEFEAT DEMONS:
A phurba, also called "vajra phurba" or "kīla" in Sanskrit, is a ritual object used in some practices of Tibetan Buddhism and Tantric Buddhism. It is in the form of a three-sided knife

The phurba symbolizes the destruction of negative forces and internal and external obstacles. It is used in rituals of protection, exorcism, purification and healing. The knife is often planted in the ground or in an object representing negative forces, thus symbolizing the victory of wisdom and compassion over ignorance and confusion.

The Phurba was introduced into Tibetan Buddhism by Phadmasambhava and is a symbol of transmutation of negative forces. Used in rituals to drive away unwanted spirits, the Phurba acts spiritually to immobilize demonic spirits and sometimes kill them in the hope that they will reincarnate in better places. Each component of the Phurba has its own meaning.

DHARMAPALA MAHAKALA AS A HANDLE:

Mahakala is a powerful and imposing deity revered in Buddhist traditions, particularly Tibetan Buddhism. As a dharmapala, or protector of the dharma, Mahakala embodies spiritual strength and protection.

In iconography, Mahakala is often depicted as a terrifying being with dark blue or black skin, symbolizing the transcendence of duality and the absence of ordinary conception. He is often depicted with multiple arms, each holding symbolic objects such as a sword, a skull cap, a trident, a bell, and sometimes a bowl of skulls filled with blood, representing transcendent compassion.

Mahakala is often described as a fierce protector of the dharma and its practitioners. He is seen as a wrathful manifestation of the enlightened mind that removes obstacles on the path to spiritual realization. His fury is directed against ignorance and the dark forces that hinder the spiritual progress of practitioners.

However, despite his fearsome appearance and fierce nature, Mahakala is also considered a benevolent and compassionate protector. He is often invoked to remove material and spiritual obstacles, to protect practitioners, and to grant them blessings.

In spiritual practices, meditation on Mahakala is often undertaken to cultivate courage, determination, and the wisdom needed to overcome obstacles on the spiritual path. By connecting to the presence of Mahakala, practitioners seek to develop inner strength and protection from negative forces and harmful influences.

Called the "Great Black", Mahakala is particular to Tibet and is called Mong-po, and was accepted as the tutelary deity of Mongolia in the 17th century under the name of Yeke Gara, under Tibetan influence.
